Vietnam
Vietnam is a country located in Southeast Asia and is bordered on the west by China, Laos, and Cambodia. It is bordered by the South China Sea on the east.
Its location gives it a very hot climate almost all year round. However, this heat is not arid. Instead it has more of a humid feel. With a population of 85 million, it is the 13th most populated country in the world and possesses one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
It has also developed into a popular vacation destination because of its numerous beaches and inexpensive prices.

When analyzing the history of Vietnam, one can see that it has been filled with war and struggle. It’s hard to believe that it has evolved to its position today as an up-and-coming nation. Beginning with the French occupancy during the mid-1800s, Vietnam has experienced a struggle for independence throughout most of its modern existence.
After defeating the French, Vietnam faced internal friction which escalated into the Vietnam War. This war consisted of the Communist-led North against the Republic-led South. The U.S. also became involved, supporting the South.
As Much controversy surrounds the war to this day, from the U.S.’s involvement to the toxic chemicals used in battles. Although few would have predicted it, the North emerged victorious.

Some critics say that the U.S. took winning for granted and took a tepid approach until it was too late. Much of the hypotheses for the failed U.S. attempt remain conjecture.
Not until 1975 did Vietnam begin its stabilization. This began with the fusion of North and South Vietnam’s government into one nucleus after the war.

Today Vietnam is gaining strength as a powerful nation although it is not quite there yet. The largest city is Ho Chi Minh City located in the South. Its population is 6.2 million people.
The lifestyle in the city is anything but inert. Nearly everyone has a motorbike and travels accordingly. The country’s unfortunate past and promising hope are both palpable in Ho Chi Minh.
It is like a porous sponge trying to squeeze out a distressing history. Modern technology such as wireless Internet verifies that Vietnam is becoming modern, but beggars orbiting around tourists suggest that it still has many problems to solve.
Education is valued, and for those lucky enough to be able to attend schools, they go and study English, Math, Astronomy, etc.

In terms of religion, most of Vietnam is Buddhist, although not everyone practices regularly. Other religions or celestial beliefs are not common.
Overall, Vietnam is a country that is primed to eclipse the other nations in its class in terms of economic strength.
It is in a transition phase and appears to be rising quickly. Not even gravity can stop its ascent into the industrialized world.
